Sasha Petit grabs ZOO Weekly Swimsuit Calendar Title!

Australia’s hottest up-and-coming swimwear models converged on Melba’s On The Park in Surfers Paradise on Friday night to do battle for bikini supremacy in the ZOO Weekly Australian Swimsuit Calendar National Final. After a gruelling catwalk competition including appearances in both Club Wear and Swimwear, 18 year old stunner Sasha Petit representing Fitzy's Tavern in Logaholme, QLD, emerged as the ultimate winner and now officially owns the highly coveted title; ZOO Weekly Australian Swimsuit Calendar Model Of The Year! First runner-up was Chelsea Foster, representing Highlander, Adelaide, SA, while Danielle Johnson representing Melbas, Surfers Paradise, QLD, grabbed the second runner-up position. Many hundreds of hopeful models from all over the nation had entered the four-month long preliminary search held simultaneously at premier entertainment venues around the nation, but only the top 20 made it through to the end. While on the Gold Coast for the finals, all National Finalists took part in a professional photographic shoot. The resulting pictures will be featured in the sizzling 2011 ZOO Weekly Australian Swimsuit Calendar !

The girls’ fun-filled and action packed week culminated with the National Final at Melbas on the Park on Friday 18th June and the battle was well and truly on, not only for the highly sought after national title but the opportunity to score a cover test shoot and a pictorial feature with ZOO Weekly magazine as well. The judging panel which included recently crowned Miss Zoo Weekly Calendar Girl Australia - Tessa Boehm (who received the highest number of votes from the buyers of the 2010 calendar) and frequent ZOO cover model Brooke Evers, had their work cut out for them, but a clear winner soon emerged. By beating the national elite of bikini models, Sasha is now guaranteed her very own month in the 2011 calendar. Her  other prizes included swimwear from Maneater Swimwear and a professional website from PacNet Multimedia. Sasha will also be the featured model on next year’s competition posters.

Sasha is 175 cm tall with brown hair and green eyes. The curvy brunette explains her exotic looks by listing her heritage as “a mix of French, Dutch, Indonesian and Australian”.  She is a Uni student and works as a fitness instructor. Sasha represented Fitzy’s Tavern, Loganholme where she won her preliminary finals.

The 2011 edition of the ZOO Weekly Australian Swimsuit Calendar will be on sale in newsagents and gift shops throughout Australia and New Zealand from October. It will then be up to the buyers to vote for their favourite model in the calendar and she will receive a trip to the Miss Calendar Girl World Finals in the Bahamas.
The 2010 ZOO Weekly Australian Swimsuit Calendar National Final featured : Chelsea Foster, Zarah Boyd, Simone Hill, Danielle Johnson, Grace Benton, Sarah Teasdale, Rosalie Shaw, Harmony Mutsaers, Breanna Slattery, Bianca Growden, Sasha Peiti, Jessica Rodgers, Majella Owen, Nicole Blapp, Colleen Boyle, Bianca Bowden, Angela Brown, Emma Ceolin, Tara Jeffrey and Melissa Manning.
The esteemed judging panel included ZOO Weekly Miss Calendar Girl Australia Tessa Boehm and ZOO Cover model Brooke Evers.
